New York, USA: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy paid tribute to the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks on Tuesday morning, visiting the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in Lower Manhattan.
At Ground Zero, Zelenskyy laid a bouquet of white flowers at the memorial pools, honoring the nearly 3,000 victims from over 90 nations—including Ukrainian citizens—who lost their lives in the 2001 attack.
The memorial visit preceded a dense schedule of bilateral meetings held on the sidelines of the UN assembly. Following the ceremony, Zelenskyy met with U.S. President Donald Trump at UN headquarters for bilateral discussions focused on defense support, energy infrastructure protection, and air defense capabilities heading into the winter season.
In addition to executive meetings, Zelenskyy's UNGA agenda includes addressing the UN Security Council, participating in the Crimea Platform International Summit, and delivering an address to the General Assembly to rally continued international backing for Ukraine's national sovereignty.
