TEHRAN,
IRAN: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned that any
renewed escalation by the United States will trigger a sweeping shift in the
conflict's geographical scope, accompanied by the deployment of previously
unseen strategic weapons. In an interview broadcast on
Al-Alam television, IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi declared
that Iran has sustained a prolonged war effort and stands ready to defend its
sovereign territory against future military pressure.
Characterizing
Washington's strategic posture in the region as a "historic defeat,"
Mohebbi asserted that American naval forces failed to forcefully reopen the
Strait of Hormuz despite their substantial maritime presence in the Persian
Gulf. The strategic waterway—a crucial maritime choke point responsible
for a major share of global energy traffic—remains heavily restricted following
earlier military clashes. Mohebbi reiterated Tehran's
position that the transit closures were a direct consequence of initial
American strikes, linking any future reopening of maritime corridors to
compliance with formal international agreements.
Directly addressing rumors of back-channel communications between
military leaders, the spokesman firmly ruled out any dialogue between the IRGC
and Washington. Mohebbi stressed that under Iran's constitutional framework,
diplomatic engagement rests exclusively with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
affirming that the IRGC maintains an entirely military function and has no
intention of conducting direct or indirect talks with U.S. officials.
The
IRGC spokesperson further claimed that Iranian forces have developed and
stockpiled advanced offensive technologies—both before and during the course of
current hostilities—that have not yet been introduced to the battlefield. Cautioning foreign adversaries against underestimating Iran's
long-term endurance, Mohebbi signaled that future retaliatory strikes would
expand beyond previous target profiles if the United States or its regional
allies resume offensive operations.
